I like to keep things simple and avoid surprises.
That’s why when we work together, I start every project with a scope of work and cost estimate. My scope of work document will tell exactly what is included in the project, how much it will cost, and how long it will take to complete.
I’ll provide a timeline that lists every action you and I need to take along the way. My timelines don’t use specific dates but instead list the number of days needed to complete each step. That way, if you need an extra day to provide information it is easy to see when you can expect the next stage of the project from me.
I Stick To My Estimates
The cost estimate you approve at the beginning of the project will never change unless you change the scope of the project or want additional work done. If that’s the case, I’ll give you a revised cost estimate before I proceed. That way there are no surprises when you get my invoice.
Billing
Speaking of invoices, here is how I bill for my work:
- If the project is completed within the month, I’ll send you an invoice when it is complete.
- If the project takes longer than a month, I’ll bill you on the first of each month for all work that was done during the prior month.
I can accept payment in several ways and list all payment options on my invoices.
